HW2, 293 suggests that the meaning of katta ariya- is “to inquire further”. Most other dictionaries (e.g. HED 1, 136) treat the meanings of ariya- with different preverbs as essentially the same. This may make better sense in the present text, since the very first inquiry is designated with katta ariya-, unless this refers to the reopening of a previously concluded oracular inquiry. katta ariya- is also found in other oracular texts from Emar (see. CTH 568.7 and CTH 568.9).
