A small animal that can jump, perhaps a type of saurian (gecko? Cf. CT 38.42, 52; CT 40.28 K 3731+, 7′-8′, Riemschneider K.K. 2004a: 235) or insect (Friedrich J. – Kammenhuber A. 1975-1984a: s. v.; Collins B.J. 1989a: 262). See Hoffner H.A. 1974a: 92; Friedrich J. 1945-1951b: 106 n. 23 for other proposals.
Or ‘private quarters’? Cf. Otten H. – Soden W. von 1968a: 27-32; Melchert H.C. 2024a: 233.
arrirandari is perhaps an unfortunate translation of naqāru, which can mean ‘to scratch’, especially when referring to inscriptions, but which in omen texts usually appears in the meaning ‘to demolish’, cf. šumma ālu 49, 154′; 60, 54′.
